I recently traded for a S&W 38 Special that is converted to a PPC gun. The only mark on the crane is a T and the serial # is 22867. Must be a K frame but could someone help with the the model and year of manufacture?

                                                                                                                   Thank's Steve

A .38 Special Hand Ejector M&P (K-frame) with a S/N of 22867 would have been built in 1902-1903.  It should have a round butt if it is this model.

would be a very old K Frame  most have the model designation on them not sure what year S&W started that it would be IIRC on the frame where the crane fits into the frame

post some pics please   That reminds me my 19-6 PPC gun needs to be rebarreled a side effect of running .357 Mags at a steel match back in the late 80's (young and foolish) cracked the forcing cone.

148 gr HBWC and 2.7 grs. Bullseye should make that gun group like nothing else  the PPC barrels have shallow rifling so mid-range ammo is where you want to be

You have a picture or email one? From what I found so far on the serial number its an N-frame, 1925ish. K frames normally have a C, D, or K somewhere in the serial number.

Can't do picture but it has a square butt and no serial number prefix. It is being reblued at this time.

Not at this time but there is a threaded hole high on the back strap to put in a screw to stop the hammer from makeing the single action cocking position. That is going to be replaced.    Steve

Is there a number on the bottom of the grip frame?  You may have a pre-1956 revolver, when there was no model number on the crane.
