Californians allow their laws to be decided by the liberal elite in Los Angeles.  Illinoians allow their laws to be decided by liberal elite in Chicago.  New Yorkers allow their laws to be decided by liberal elite in NYC.  At some point those red blooded Americans need to start a max exodus from those regions and enjoy freedom in the heartland... free from oppressive taxes and government intrusion.  Eventually the commie states will collapse under their own weight of oppression, and I wouldn't want to be there when it happens.

Naw, the liberal elite are out in San Fransico, Sacremento, and the coastal communities. There are certain liberal hot spots in LA, Venice being a prime example. I said for years that as diverse as California is it really should be three different states. Central and most of southern Ca are very different. Likewise, the far north may as well be its own planet.

Personaly I think that the bulk if the proposed crap will fall on its ass. There has been a large increase in interest in the shooting sports over the past few years, I vividly remember a time when I could go into a gun store and have the place to myself, more than ample ammo and very few people seemed interested. When I left last April it was completely different, the last gun I bought out there I had to wait 1.5 hours to get to the seat to make the purchase. Likewise the two ranges I'd frequent(when we didn't just drive out into the desert instead) used to be pretty much deserted most of the time. That all started changing a few years back.

I still have friends out there, one who has been collecting his whole life and has a collection of preban stuff that would make a lot of folks here more than a little jealous. For their sake I hope things get better but other than that, I really don't care. It does suck though that already my friends family will have to sell or turn in the bulk of his collection when he passes as they currently fall under the non-transferable ban.

God I am so much happier out here.

I don’t know the situation in California, but the liberal elite aren’t causing it in Illinois. The poor that think guns are the reason their kids are getting killed and going to prison is. Three of the 102 counties in Illinois making up "Chicagoland" (Cook, Dupage, and Lake) account for 53% of the population in 6% of the state’s land area. Unless you support government handouts and gun control; it’s tough to get elected. Tennessee will eventually become the same way.

It is the liberal elite telling the ignorant masses that the solution to their problems is to criminalize gun ownership and take wealth from the "wealthy". Tennessee has a long way to go before we are controlled by liberal democarats in Mempis and Knoxville.

The nation reelected a socialist tyrant after four years of watching him side step congress and walk all over the Constitution. 40% of the votes cast in Tennessee were for him. How long do think it will be?

I watched it happen in Illinois. I see it happening again. Some people want to attack Illinois and say they are getting what the deserve.  That is ridiculous; the people of downstate Illinois are good people just like most of the people in Tennessee.

Memphis is at or near the top of all lists of the most dangerous cities in America. Some even list Nashville. Gun control will be targeted as the fix. Since cities here can’t pass gun laws; the state lawmakers will be calling the shots for everyone. We are oaky, until there is a power shift.

If these politicians spent as much time on getting our manufacturing base back as they spend on gun control and welfare programs; welfare and crime rates both would drop.

I think we’re safe in Tennessee. As mentioned, we’re not a “city state” ruled by liberals / political machines. It’s those states that encourage their citizens to be dependent on government handouts (and failing to push them to be independent) that will have the problems. Our current system rewards those people, and their kids grow up to also be government dependent. This is how the liberals grow their voter base. I don’t see that trend in Tennessee (my opinion).

It's only the last few years that republicans have gained control of the legislative branches, as Tennessee has long been governed by the Democrats. The republicans gained control of Congress in '94 for first time in over 40 years, but only after 12 years of control, they managed to screw up and lose control in 2006. I'm sure it won't take long before the repubs lose control back to the commie democrats in TN. after witnessing the voter stupidity in re-electing the Marxist/commie to WH. Edited by ThePunisher

Wait until the San Andreas fault cuts loose and ALL the vermin are free to roam at will.  Memphis, and the surrounding areas, will be the same way when the New Madrid ruptures.

I have a friend in LA that would fit right in with this bunch. I saw him a couple weeks ago, and we talked about all this crap. He keeps his cool guns in Arizona (AR, AK's). He won't leave LA because of his gig. I think the commie states are going to wind up pushing it until it breaks.

TN went with Carter and Slick Willy twice. You don't think tide could easily turn back to that?

Women's vote here in '16 maybe swing it for Hillary?
