ProMag magazines?

I'm looking for a few additional p229 magazines in 40sw. CDNN has some Promag magazines for $7 apiece. Does anyone have experience with these? The price is a far cry from the $35 factory mags.

The Promags I bought for my HK wouldn't feed for crap.

I looked on the SigForum and no one there had anything good to say about ProMag. Better to have one factory mag, than 10 ProMags.

See if you can find Meggar's. I think they might even make the newer Sig factory mags for them.

hi,

promags are O.K. for range mags but that is about it. i sure wouldn't trust them in my carry weapon.

at $7. each -- you get what you pay for.

i agree with the mecgar's. they make many of the oem mags for several makes including "SIG".

there is always good used mags floating around the sig forum for sale at reasonable prices.

Yeah, forget promags and get mecgar's. Mecgar makes a good mag.

+1 on the MecGar mags. The few ProMags I've had didn't work well.

I have a SWAT buddy who uses them and his have ran fine.

On duty?

If so, are you sure they're not P-Mags made by MagPul?

Totally different animal...

The Ak mags I had never gave me any problems, but many handgun mags I've had have been junk.

Bought 1 ProMag for my AK to try it out. Jammed every other shot. I just buy Eastern Block surplus now, mainly Bulgarian.

That's the only ProMag I've ever used, but in my 1 out of 1 times, it was junk.

Never used ProMags in a rifle, but the handgun mags I've used were junk. I had nothing but trouble out of them.

To be fair, they were used. I'm not sure that was a factor, but I tossed them anyway.

I bought a bunch of them for a Beretta 92 several years back when Jumbo Sports went out of business. They all worked fine but then again the 92 is about the most reliable pistol made.

The pro-mags i had worked fine for practice. I never used them for carry. just factory and mec-gar.

I am looking to get a couple of extra SIG p6/p225 magazines. I found some promag magazines online and was wondering if anyone has any opinions on them.

On another forum I frequent, I just read a thread about ProMag and no one recommended them. One man had just bought two for his Kahr that wouldn't work properly.

I generally hold pro mag in very low regard, especially for hicap mags. However, I did own 2 promags for a Sig 225. They worked flawlessly on the range. I never did get up enough confidence to carry them on the street.

I have used promags for the BHP and Sig 226. My personal experience that they were junk, and were all eventually junked. However I had a couple for a Sig 225 that never gave me any problems.

Just a word of advice due to some agreement Mec-Gar cant sell sig P229 .40cal mags yet. Your only option is factory mag, the extended mag(srt?), or the crap pro-mag...now I will say I have a 30rd promag for my Beretta 92 and it actually feeds great even on a rapid fire mag dump.
