I will probably kick my self for this, but Gander Mnt in turkey creek (Knoxville)

has .223, 25 a box of 50 or a case of 1000 for 500.

 

I got me some but I didn't buy a case.  Probably should have.

 

I forgot what band the case was but the lose boxes are fiocchi (brass).

 

 

.50 cent a round, I have seen worse. 

 

I only got some, kinda hoping this is a sign of better things to come.

 

As I left there was at least 6 cases I could see.

 

They are behind the counter on the left side of the guns.

Once I've shot my range stash, if .50/round becomes standard for .223, I'll be mothballing my ARs.

Yeah, no way I'm ever paying 50¢ per round for .223. I'll sell my freshly-built AR first.

Don't shoot all your 5.56/223 - save enough for the first battle.  After that we'll have captured ammo to shoot.

.50 per round is rape for anything short of match grade ammunition in 223/556.
