I have the fixed 3X on my AR-15 with the Nikon mount. It's not an ACOG but for the money a pretty good scope.

Only problem I have with it is... Can't get it zeroed at 100 yards, shoots three inches high. May not be the scope, it could be I have too much off set between picatinny rail and scope?

I have the Nikon M223 it's dead on knock it around all the time shoot it and its always dead on good scopes . Burris R.i.p.e.r mount quick detach

Been thinking about getting the P-223 3-9x40 myself, once I can rub some spare rubles together.

I assume you mean P.E.P.R. QD mount? That's what I already have on my main AR, although with a cheapo scope.

The only expensive (for me) scope I own right now is a Nikon ProStaff BDC, and it's real nice, and all the reviews I see for the P-223 series are really complimentary too.

I've got the 3x on one of mine, excellent clarity and quality. Its mounted with Burris tactical rings. No complaints at all other than I wish it had a hair more zoom. Maybe 6x.

I've also got a P-223 in a  Burris P.E.R.P. mount on a Daniel Defense AR. Very clear glass, has the BDC reticle, haven't used the BDC yet. No complaint here.
