Bowling alley carry.

Recommended Posts

Where I bowl, they have a seperate room where alcohol is sold, however, the customers are allowed to consume it in the main area as well as the little room. Would carry be legal under the current law as long as I stayed out of the little room? :taser:

No that would not be legal. Many restaurants have a separate bar, but you still can't carry in the non-bar part of the restaurant.

If the owner of the building has the alcohol license, it really doesn't matter what rooms do and do not have it.

I think the only grey area would be in the case of a mall which houses a restaurant with an alcohol license... the mall itself doesn't serve beer, but one would probably only get in trouble for entering the restaurant portion itself. I'm no lawyer though.

I would say No as well on the bowling alley.

On malls, I believe each store is counted as sepreate premises.

Yah, and even more to the point - you can't legally walk around the mall with alcohol purchased from that restaurant.

I really wish that at least the places that serve alcohol had to post that at the door. I hate having to guess all the time before I enter a place that might serve alcohol. I would have totally missed the bowling ally thing. In Texas, all places that derive 51% or more of their revenue from alochol sales (the threshold to deny carry in there) are required to post a specific sign at the door. Obviuosly, I would prefer no carry restrictions, but in the meantime, I wish signs were required by resteraunts and other alcohol serving places.

What about hotels, some actually have a bar on sight, others, have a "Tuesday Night Happy Hour" where they have snacks and some beer, but they do not "sell" beer.
