Interstate Arms Corp., Their firearms are pretty budget friendly. Read that one of their shotguns is built almost identical to a remington 870 and the 870 accessories bolt right up to an IAC. So I was wondering about the quality.

Metallurgical they are better than the Remington's according to the test I've read on some shotgun forums.. The receiver is milled from a solid piece of steel that is higher quality than the Remington's (China doesn't have any pesky EPA laws;)). IAC and Remington are owned by the same parent company so they share designs and the IAC/H&R are nearly identical to the 870.

The H&R Pardner Pump has a slightly different receiver profile with the little hump in the back but the IAC is identical to the 870. The internals and trigger guards are all steel unlike some of the 870 models. They will take all 870 accessories and parts except for 870 barrels and some fore-ends.

You can get an 870 barrel work but you will have to file a bit on the lug of the 870 barrel to get it to fit the IAC/H&R receiver. They are heavier guns than the 870 but in shotgun that's not a terrible thing. I will be getting another one shortly as I really like them. I am planning on getting one of the Bullpup Unlimited stocks for one. :)

Just started looking at these. Have you been able to find one? I've read that they aren't being made any,ore and I've also seen a recent (other) forum post in which someone says they just got their's

I was in the market for an 870 but I'm going with the IAC, now.
