I have to smile a little when I think of the cops I know being afraid of this clown. Most would like nothing better than to engage him; I know I would have.

Yes, the people he made threats against are being guarded24/7. That’s common sense, if he tries to carry out his threats; that is where he will be. One retired cop on the hit list said he hadn’t been out of his house since the shooting. Does that mean it is because of this, or is that just how the media played it?

 

Cowards like Dorner feed on fear. So I’m sure he is getting off on all the hand wringing in the media.

 

But now a Million dollars is in play. The best thing that could happen would be if an armed citizen took him down. Feinstein and Boxer won’t like that.

 

Unless he's simply ready for this ordeal to be over, I'm not so sure he's dumb enough to "engage" anyone. I'm picturing it more as a sneak attack than anything. Although, maybe not outstanding at either, this guy was in the military and LE. He's not some common thug who's couldn't hit the broad side a a barn while randomly blasting his fotey-cal with the sideways grip. He does, at least, have a general idea what he's doing.

 

I generally try not to underestimate my opponent, especially when they have the advantage of the element of surprise. We're not talking about a dual of skill at the local target range or even hand to hand combat. This guy could come out anywhere at anytime. I hope they find him before he finds them.

I’m not underestimating him, good God the man claims to have an SA-7. I’m just saying that if they get a tip; they will take him out. And yes he is…. He is a common thug. The fact that he was a Navy Reserve Officer (What did he do?)  and a cop for what… a year and a half… doesn’t change that. Highly trained? How much training do you need to execute women and shoot cops sitting in their cars?

I haven’t heard any of the details, but my guess is they will get more than a truck whether this goes to trial or not. The cops made a mistake. Those women get a payday; now it’s just a matter of how much.

I juat want to know how can he be buying food and water without being seen or tracked down? he might just go jump off a bridge and never be seen again. That would leave the cops looking for him for years and years while he is dead and gone.

True, however, they did put up a $1,000,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, and although he was made a member of the "Top 10 Most Wanted" of the FBI he was able to evade arrest for 5+ years.  I suspect he had far fewer skills at "laying low" than the current culprit.

I wouldn't accept anything, period.  I would want a lawsuit to reflect the gross negligence of the officers and see those officers thrown in jail.  We don't know the circumstances yet, but I can't think of any circumstances where it would be appropriate to shoot two women who are unarmed from behind.  I really can't.  The officers that pulled the trigger need to be in prison, same as if you or I had indiscriminately shot at a person.

From the pictures of the truck in question -- It was LIT UP!  I mean -- 20-30+ bullet holes in the tailgate, rear of the bed, and rear glass.  This is gross negligence in every sense of the word!

Yep. I'm pretty damn tired of the double standard. You and I would be in jail if we so much as drew our guns. There is no excuse for opening up on a group of unarmed women.

An attorney for the two women has stated they do not want to sue . They only want compensation for medical, missed wages and that kind of stuff. I'm still shaking my head on this whole thing.
