Normally I wouldn't post a story about a cop/ former cop gone rogue but this story has an interesting twist. Dorner, left a manifesto that is quite interesting.

If you had a well regulated AWB, this would not happen. The time is now to reinstitute a ban that will save lives. Why does any sportsman need a 30 round magazine for hunting? Why does anyone need a suppressor? Why does anyone need a AR15 rifle? This is the same small arms weapons system utilized in eradicating Al Qaeda, Taliban, and every enemy combatant since the Vietnam war. Don’t give me that crap that its not a select fire or full auto rifle like the DoD uses. That’s bullshit because troops who carry the M-4/M-16 weapon system for combat ops outside the wire rarely utilize the select fire function when in contact with enemy combatants. The use of select fire probably isn’t even 1% in combat. So in essence, the AR-15 semiautomatic rifle is the same as the M-4/M-16. These do not need to be purchased as easily as walking to your local Walmart or striking the enter key on your keyboard to "add to cart". All the firearms utilized in my activities are registered to me and were legally purchased at gun stores and private party transfers. All concealable weapons (pistols) were also legally register in my name at police stations or FFL's. Unfortunately, are you aware that I obtained class III weapons (suppressors) without a background check thru NICS or DROS completely LEGALLY several times? I was able to use a trust account that I created on quicken will maker and a $10 notary charge at a mailbox etc. to obtain them legally. Granted, I am not a felon, nor have a DV misdemeanor conviction or active TRO against me on a NCIC file. I can buy any firearm I want, but should I be able to purchase these class III weapons (SBR's, and suppressors) without a background check and just a $10 notary signature on a quicken will maker program? The answer is NO. I'm not even a resident of the state i purchased them in. Lock n Load just wanted money so they allow you to purchase class III weapons with just a notarized trust, military ID. Shame on you, Lock n Load. NFA and ATF need new laws and policies that do not allow loopholes such as this. In the end, I hope that you will realize that the small arms I utilize should not be accessed with the ease that I obtained them. Who in there right mind needs a fucking silencer!!! who needs a freaking SBR AR15? No one. No more Virginia Tech, Columbine HS, Wisconsin temple, Aurora theatre, Portland malls, Tucson rally, Newtown Sandy Hook. Whether by executive order or thru a bi-partisan congress an assault weapons ban needs to be re-instituted. Period!!!

Sen. Feinstein, you are doing the right thing in leading the re-institution of a national AWB. Never again should any public official state that their prayers and thoughts are with the family. In my cache you will find several small arms. In the cache, Bushmaster firearms, Remington precision rifles, and AAC Suppressors (silencers). All of these small arms are manufactured by Cerberus/Freedom Group. The same company responsible for the Portland mall shooting, Webster , NY, and Sandy Hook massacre.

You disrespect the office of the POTUS/Presidency and Commander in Chief. You call him Kenyan, mongroid, halfrican, muslim, and FBHO when in essence you are to address him as simply, President. The same as you did to President George W. Bush and all those in the highest ranking position of our land before him. Just as I always have. You question his birth certificate, his educational and professional accomplishments, and his judeo-christian beliefs. You make disparaging remarks about his dead parents. You never questioned the fact that his former opponent, the honorable Senator John McCain, was not born in the CONUS or that Bush had a C average in his undergrad. Electoral Candidates children (Romney) state they want to punch the president in the face during debates with no formal repercussions. A woman whose professional and educational accomplishments are second to none when compared to recent First wives. Before you start with your argument that you believe I would vote for Obama because he has the same skin color as me, fuck you. I didn’t vote in this last election as my choice of candidate, John Huntsman, didn’t win the primary candidacy for his party. Sometimes I believe your administration forgets that. That is the freedom to LIVE and LOVE. They may eat different foods, enjoy different music, have different dialects, or speak a second language, but in essence are no different from you and I. This is America. We are not a perfect sovereign country as we have our own flaws but we are the closest that will ever exist.

No, it's different for LEO(no residency required and no NICS), and different again for MIL(Residency more lax after PCS but  all still require NICS)

 

 

 

Sales of Firearms to Law Enforcement Officers

Section 925(a)(1) of the GCA generally exempts law enforcement agencies from the transportation, shipment, receipt, possession, or importation controls of the GCA when firearms or ammunition are to be used for official agency business.

In this regard, law enforcement officers purchasing firearms for official duty need to provide certain documentation. If a law enforcement officer is issued a certification letter on official agency letterhead signed by a person in authority within the agency (other than the person purchasing the firearm) stating that the officer will use the firearm in official duties and that a records check reveals that the purchasing officer has not been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, then the officer may purchase the firearm for official use. There are no restrictions as to the purchasing officer’s State of residence or agency location. You are not required to prepare a Form 4473 for the transaction or to conduct a NICS Check; however, the disposition to the officer must be entered into your A&D records, and the certification letter from the officer must be retained as part of your required records.

 

ATF considers the following as persons having authority to certify the eligibility of law enforcement officers:

In a city or county police department, the director of 1. public safety or the chief or commissioner of police.

In a sheriff’s office, the sheriff.2.

In a State police or highway patrol department, the 3. superintendent or the supervisor in charge of the office to which the State officer or employee is assigned.

In Federal law enforcement offices, the supervisor 4. in charge of the office to which the Federal officer or employee is assigned.

Certification letters may be signed by persons other than those listed above, provided there is a proper delegation of authority. Because individual circumstances vary, FFLs with any questions are encouraged to check with their local ATF field office before accepting certifications letters from other officials.

A member of the Armed Forces on active duty is a resident of the State in which his or her permanent duty station is located. However, if a military member maintains a home in one State and has a permanent duty station in a another State to which he or she commutes each day, the military member has two States of residence and may purchase a firearm in either State—and must list both the residence address and permanent duty station in Item 2 on the Form 4473.

A military member on active duty must present either a current driver’s license or State identification card from your State, or a copy of the official orders showing the military member’s permanent duty station in your State along with a military photo identification card, an out-of-State driver’s license, or an out-of-State identification card.

ATF has determined that you may accept electronic Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. You are reminded to exercise due diligence to ensure that these electronic orders reflect a PCS, not a temporary move or deployment (TDY) and that the dates of the transfer are identified on the document and are inclusive of the date of the attempted firearm acquisition. You are required to verify the identity of the transferee by examining a valid identification document.

I don't know how I feel about this guy.   Hes a hero, decorated and loyal, then fired because the guy who accused him also is in charge of his hearing?! 

I can't say murdering people is the way to go, but it sure sounds like this guy got screwed every which way and finally snapped.

Exactly! I just saw on the news, a blue pickup riddled with bullet holes. The LAPD shot two women in the truck delivering newspapers. Tell me again why these folks should have guns and I shouldn't?

I haven’t read much about this yet, but it is my understanding he got in a fight with a suspect and then accused his female training Officer of brutality, saying she kicked the guy in the face. Witnesses said that wasn’t how it happened and he got fired. I haven’t seen much more than that about the dismissal.

He killed the daughter (and her fiancée) of the guy that represented him in his hearing; nothing the Father did could justify that. And they weren’t cops.

11 years service (and it said 15 but you know how the web news spews first and corrects later) and he had (again web news) a great record and (unspecified decorations).  11 years as an LA cop with a clean record up to termination event sounds like he might have actually have been a good guy (not counting snapping this week).

 

The one I read (again, garble time on the web) said his assistent got in the fight with a suspect and HE turned the other cop in.  

 

Maybe was a good guy, maybe not, but its highly questionable that his accuser had so much power over him in the hearing.  Sounds like he offended someone and was railroaded, in some of these stories. 

 

Agreed, killing those innocents makes him a murdering thug, that is, absolutely, wrong.   But it sounds like something very wrong happened to him reading between the lines.
