I've had them both, as well as the TA01-NSN and much prefer the TA33G-H. Its the only ACOG I still have left and use. The reason I prefer, is that for my limited shooting distances, I feel that the 3x is the fastest for CQB out to about 100 yards. It has the BDC on there, so you can use it out to 400 yards or so, but beyond 100, I just personally prefer a scope. I feel that the 1.5x is actually slower for CQB than an unmagnified optic like Aimpoint or EOTech, because of the eye relief. The eye relief on the 3x is more forgiving for me (I think the TA33 actually has a shorter eye relief than the TA44, but for some reason I'm able to sight in better on the TA33. I know it makes no sense haha), an the magnification is not so much that you cannot use it at short distances, and is enough that you can also use it at longer distances as well.

These are just my personal opinions based on range use. I have never shot beyond 100 yards and have never been in combat nor been to a carbine class, so I cannot comment for those settings.

IMO, for optic choices, either go with an unmagnified red dot, the 3x TA33 (I love the green horseshoe reticle), or go with a variable magnification scope. Anything in between just doesn't seem to work well for me personally, and since you are comparing the 3 ACOG's I have also personally compared when I bought them all, I have a feeling you may like the TA33 the best out of those as well.

I didn't read every post but I wanted to throw in my 2 cents worth, just to help you make up your mind.
I've got the 3 X 30, I bought it New a few years ago when they first came out with the little Acog. I absolutely Love that Acog, it works Great with Night Vision Optics and it's just the right size to carry in the Rifle case if you aren't planning on using it, it will fit in a small place and doesn't take up any room at all.
The reticle is Perfect for getting a dead on shot at 100 yards+ and if I'm not mistaken you actually have a longer eye relief than most other small Acogs?!
I use mine on my 300 Blackout, with subsonic and Supersonic loads, and when you get use to the bullet drop when shooting suppressed subsonic loads that thing is Dead on every time! I sometimes take it off and put it on my 556 & it works just as good on that rifle on that rifle too.

Good luck
