lower parts kit?

I'm building an AR-15 for my daughter and I dont know much about lower parts kits. I know I want one with the fire control group. I already have a lower and a stock/buffer.

I guess my questions are who makes a good kit, where to buy/order, and can you get them for a reasonable price?

DPMS is the best for the money. I have used them for countless builds and they have always been great. I have seen issues with other brands.

Your biggest obstacle is getting used to the fact you are going to have to use what ever you can get. All AR parts are in short supply right now.

I like the Palmetto State Armory Kits. They seem to us to have a good trigger pull to start with out of the box.  My cronies and I have used them on numerous builds. The also offer different packages at different levels/offering of parts.

I have recently used a ALG Defense FCG with good results.

 

The big deal is trying to find a kit period.

Found a CMMG on Saturday for $65. The bolt catch was too tight and I had to modify it a little. Now I have a complete lower...just need to find the parts for my stripped upper.

I've done two with CMMG, didn't have the bolt catch problem.

 

I like them 'cause the parts are sorted into groups, don't have to worry about mixing up the springs and stuff.
