Well we finally made it to TN and now starts the process of getting everything unpacked and settled in. If you ever have to drive I-70 across Kansas in a 26ft moving truck, I recommend that you find a different route, you will drive yourself stir-crazy because there is NOTHING out THERE!!!. Oh well talk with everyone soon!!!

Glad you made it. I can testify to I-70 through Kansas. I worked in Western CO in the summer of 2003. I remember for a while I couldn't even pick up a single radio station. So I was driving in silence for about 60 miles. Truly desolate.

You should try to attend the Shooting Get together. There is a thread I. "Events and gatherings" it's not far from Clinton.

I always perfered those long boring roads over getting lost on busy interstates with 10 million ramps and exits. We went to disney last year. I75 was great. Downtown ATL sucked.

Made the drive from Ca to Nashville on I40 a few times. That's a nice trip with some great scenery. One things for sure, you KNOW when you reach Texas, all if a sudden you come around a bend and BAM big sky country. Miles of nothing as far as you can see. I love that drive personally.

Welcome to Tn.

I hated the drive from Cali to home. Did both the 40 route and the southern one. Nothing in New Mexico or west texas except desert and scrub brush. Ill take my backwoods and mountains thank you

Welcome Home. Glad you made it.

I've made that drive a time or two. At least if you drive 80 across Nebraska there's a tree...Kansas...not so much...

Let us know when you're settled in and ready to do some shooting.

BTW. you have to great shooting range choices.

One in the city of Norris for 40 a year or say 60 for you and your wife for a year.  (outdoor range)

Second on the other side of Oak Ridge from you, their is ORSA (Oak Ridge Sportsmen's Association) for 120 a year you and your family for a year.

Depending on drive distance and how often you want to shoot. For me ORSA is better as it is only about 10 minutes from home with traffic.

If your interested you would qualify to join the American Legion here in Maryville. Annual dues are $35 a year and to join the range its a $20 or $25 one time fee for life time membership to the outdoor shooting range.

Thanks all for the WARM Welcome, yea looking into the ORSA just right down the road from me, I'd say about a 20min drive which is no problem. But with ORSA dont you have to be invited or know someone in ORSA.

Yeah, the I40 route was quite boring. Stopped in AZ for the night, then 26hrs straight to TN. Thankfully Arkansas had Sundrop!
