TN Bill to remove restrictions on knife possession and carry

Very excited about this change in law. Nice for some freedoms to be restored rather than taken away for a change.

Still kinda sad when they have to "restore" freedoms but at least it's in the right direction. What I will never understand is why some people have some kind of mental brick wall where they can't see the simple fact that if someone is determined to commit a crime with a knife or gun, it doesn't matter what kind of law or how many laws against knife or gun crime there is, they will still commit the crime. Decent people who obey laws and have respect for their fellow humans are not going to commit crimes weather they can carry a long or automatic knife or a gun. To me it's fairly simple and logical but that seems to escape some people.

I hope this brings the prices down, but I fear that we'll experience a run on auto-knives like we have with .22 ammo. Next we'll see pictures of nefarious men sitting around Walmart waiting for shipments, and hear complaints of shady deals at Academy Sports.

Won't happen, at least from vendors out of state auto knives have been legal in many other states for years,my advice to you if anyone in this state decides to jack up the prices or charge insane prices when the new law goes into play, buy from someone else

I was being facetious and there's no emoticon for that, sorry. I don't usually carry a knife unless I'm camping, but it'd be really cool to have a really small auto knife just to say that I have one. I sure ain't spending $400 for one.

I have no real want for an auto knife, since I find assisted open just fine for most tasks, but I'm really excited I can get a few of the fixed blades I've been wanting for years now that were always off the table due to the 4"+ blade lengths!

Can we now legally carry any size/type of knife we so choose?[/quote] As long as the governor doesn't veto, the answer will be yes as of July 1.

BladeHQ has a nice selection of auto knives.  The Boker Kalashnikov is modestly priced.  Unfortunately, most of them are out of stock at the moment.

Quite a few of our supporting vendors sell high-end knives already... are any of them planning on bringing some automatic stuff in?  Are any of them following this thread?

Someone tell me where the cheapest place is to get a "switch blade or auto" knife if a quality brand!

Benchmade is one I like, but I'm open to others as well!

Here goes some of mine. Forgot to get the Boker out though.

The Beretta and second Benchmade is #1 of 1,000 and the fixed blade Benchmade is #307 of 1,000.

In my opinion here is the best knife that you will find for the lowest money for a great american made auto that you will absolutely love, they fire harder than any Benchmade or similar priced knives that I have ever owned

You can't beat the about of knife with the Glock for the money. I wish the Ka Bars were comparable.

Protech has several models that are UNBELIEVABLY fast.  They're like magic and just bring a smile to your face.

You sure as heck need to hold onto them, though.

Excellent!

So should I order an automatic now or would it still be illegal?

Gonna stop by Frost Cutlery in Ooltewah and pick up a new long blade to keep in the truck. I'm diggin' this bill. :)

Best that it's something other than a Frost product you grab there! 'Course, the real brands they sell aren't bargain priced either, so lose lose IMO.
