They need to change some rules for fishing.

Page 59 of the Anglers guide. You can't posses or transport these fish. The state doesn't want them in the waters. When I fish here or other states, I carry a trash bag. Any trash fish that I catch goes into the bag and into a trash container when I get to shore. Game fish go into the live well.

There was an artical in the Commerical Appeal Jan. 28th. I tried to copy and paste, it won't work. "Return to Sender" commerical fishermen can keep the Asian Carp, but sportsmen can't.

Seems pretty consistent with how TWRA operates, just ask hog hunters.

Why not just kill them and throw them back? No less cruel, and the amount you kill wouldn't hurt the water quality.

What I've read about the asian carp, is if you kill them and release back into the water. A fertile female can still drop good eggs up to 48 hours.

Well that's a good reason then, I was unaware of that.

So, that complicates things. But I wouldn't risk getting caught with fish in my boat. I'd maybe gut them in a bucket to get the eggs out and dump the carcus back in the lake. Then dump the bucket at the dock.

Have you called TWRA and talked o someone?

You can't possess or transport live fish. You can keep them for personal use all you want. The USFWS and TWRA want these things gone!!! We don't want you to put them in your live well and release them somewhere else. There's is no limit on them....have fun and enjoy! I was canoeing a week or so ago and one jumped out of the water and hit me in the side of my head. That fish that weighed about 3 pounds and hurt like a ########### when it hit. Kill them things!!!

Ahh, that is more clear. Thanks Dave. Just break their neck and drop em in a bucket or garbage bag. "LIVE" is the key here. Transport all the dead ones you can
