Interstate purchase question

Is it legal for a GA resident to sell a long gun to a TN resident without using an FFL ?

 

I've heard, "My friend has an FFL and says it's OK, but I don't believe that."

 I would rather see something in writing from the ATF or TN DOS, but I can't seem to find anything that addresses this specifically.

Does anyone have the reg that applies that will tell us Yea or Nay ?

If its shipped into this state has to go thrugh a FFL here.  If you go to Georgia to purchase it you can go through a FFL there.  Federal law allows you to buy long guns from neighboring states via a FFL but not via a individual purchase.

Federal law allows one to buy long guns through FFLs in any state (if the FFL will do it). Some states have laws that limit only to some neighboring states.
