AR bolt question

I purchased a bolt for an AR build, and I want to make sure I order everything else to go with it.

Do I need anything other than the firing pin, firing pin retaining pin and cam pin?

I'm also in the process of hunting down a carrier with gas key. Will I need anything else?

That should do it if your bolt is fully assembled with ejector, extractor, and gas rings.

mikegideon is correct.  You need a complete bolt with gas rings, a bolt carrier with staked gas key, a firing pin, bolt cam pin, and firing pin retaining pin.

Don't forget the ejector pin, spring and retaining pin. I say this because I built a bolt from scratch and forgot them. You know a dang AR won't spit the case out without these components. Strange huh?

Got on a range once with a recently assembled bolt from my parts box. Couldn't figure out why I had a single shot rifle. No gas rings on the bolt.... a very goober moment.

I got a bolt carrier group from BCM that had no gas rings on bolt. From BCM for c'sakes.

 

Saw it before I shot it, though.
