Well, the Joke was on Me...

This morning I was scouring the Internet for 9mm & .45 ammunition, like one or two of you may be doing. As is well known, almost none to be had except, found one off the wall place that had 9mm for $55.90 for 50 rounds, no way I think to myself.

Headed out to get a hair cut and decided to stop by a local sporting goods store first to see if they had any Gun Butter. I got greeted as I walked in the door and with a smirk I said, "I hear y'all are having a 9mm & .45 ammo sale"! Expecting to hear the same old sad tale he says, well, we only have one box of each left and don't expect to get anymore anytime soon.

So without even looking at the price I scarfed them up and immediately made a bee line to the check out. I don't know if it would have made a difference trying to squint and see the price tag before I plopped down the cash but... Fifty rounds of Winchester White Box .45 for $40.00 and Blazer Brass for $17.00.

The way I look at it, it's one more month I can have the ammo to shoot my monthly IDPA matches.

I noticed not long ago Walmart's value packs of four boxes 12 ga. shotgun shells went up $5.00 per pack over night.

I have made that same mistake before. I lucked up today and got some federal 45 for $21 a box.  Last time I saw 45 was $32 a box so i felt I did good.  BUT at least you have some now...

Seriously, just go to Walmart between 6-7am each day, and I mean each day, and see the results of the stocking from the truck the day/night before. I have grabbed in the past 2 weeks 2-3 boxes of 100 Federal value packs of 45 at the old price, I think $34.97, not sure.  Usually there are several, and my Walley has no one other than me waiting. It also pays to warm up to the sporting goods clerks. I am into reloading now, but I just can't stop my old habits of buying factory ammo.

Of course I made some basic assumptions, sleep vs. desire, desire vs. wallet, need vs. want.

Yup, last Thursday my walmart got in 3 boxes of the UMC 250rnds for $90 and a few boxes of federal for $20. It's all out there for cheap, you just have to be willing to wait on it.

I found some Federal 115 gr 9mm at Walmart last week.  Got my 3 box limit.  I couldn't believe it.
