Hello, Folks!

Hello all.  Let me start by saying that I'm a 41 year old father of two wonderful kids... a son and a daughter, and an engineer by trade.  I'm no stranger to firearms, but I am new to forums... thus the "Rookie" part of my name.  As for the "wookie" part, long story related to fantasy football, LOL. 

 

Anyway, as I mentioned I've been around guns for the better part of my life. My dad is retired US Army Special Forces, so I was obviously raised around and with an appreciation for firearms, though I had none of my own for years... like most people, I guess, my dad taught me how to shoot.  A few years back, I began to develop an interest in collecting some of my own and started with a trusty little Ruger 10/22. I'm sure most of you already know this, but guns seem to multiply... you start with one and, well, let's just say I have more than one. I plan to pass that appreciation of and respect for guns down to my kids, same as Dad did with me. 

 

Since my interest in guns has increased in recent years, so has my awareness of the issues that affect my right to own them.  Honestly, I am terribly fearful of the direction in which our country is headed over the last several decades, and so I have become much more vocal lately. 

 

Well, I've rambled on long enough about myself.  I look forward to taking part on this forum, discussing the things we're all passionate about, and arming myself with the knowledge to "take the fight to the enemy" on the subject of gun control, 2A issues, etc.

in Oak Ridge.  Go to ORSAAP.com for a list of the action pistol/3-gun
competitions we shoot monthly.  Briefly - IDPA the First Saturday,
Cowboys the Second Saturday, USPSA the third Saturday, 3-Gun the Sunday
following the USPSA match, Steel Challenge the fourth Saturday.  Come on
