An unconverted Saiga in 7.62x39 for $400? Dunham's has one for sale. I have wanted a converted Saiga for a while, but of course you can't find one right now for a decent price. Who on here has converted one? I have seen the links on here on how to convert one, but I would be nervous doing one by myself.

Go buy it now! If you want it and the cost won't affect your lifestyle this is likely the best price you'll find on one in awhile. As to the conversion, by the time you find the parts, mags, and ammo you'll likely have all the info you need.

make it even easier and do the bullpup stock upgrade.

If you get it you can find all the help you need over at the Saiga-12 forum. forum.saiga-12.com.

I didn't even know what a Saiga was when I got my S-12 and that's where I went to learn all about Saigas.

wow. the first result on gunbroker has a top bid of $845! I remember when these were $250-300

Yeah i gave 299 for mine a couple years ago, a very good investment on my part. I converted mine myself, its not too hard and it WELL worth it. Smith is a pretty hardcore ak guy and if im not mistaken does conversions for members on here, you might wanna check with him. I LOVE both my saiga's and if i had to for some reason sell some guns, they would be the last to go. Id sell all my hunting rifles and ar's first. The hardest part of the conversion is drilling and tapping for the bullet guide. But take your time with it and do some research. I used a youtube video series to help me with my conversion. There are tons of videos on how to do it.

As others have said, if you can get one for $400 right now, jump on it ASAP. Hopefully itll still be there when you go back. If i was in my lgs and saw one unconverted on the shelf for that price, i wouldnt hesitate to buy it then and there. Good luck!

Does that mean you jumped on it? At this point it is most likely gone if not.

nooooo...but I did pick a Yugo underfolder tonight. I talked to the associate at Dunham's. He said they are getting the Saigas in regularly.
