S. Ala. child remains hostage in underground bunker 1 day after bus driver killed

Recommended Posts

Wont be long before a teen brings a gun on a bus and tells the cops he just wanted to protect himself.

Kids are found with all types of weapons at school claiming they are just trying to defend themselves. I actually believe most only have the intentions of using them for self defense, very likely their assailant will be armed. Regardless our schools are a deadly place because we have let values and morals escape our country. I feel drugs are the number 1 contributing factor but terrible parenting is where it all starts.

That guy could have a fleet of F-16s and a palace in the sky, and I wouldn't think any of it was cool.... The whole murdering someone and kidnapping a 6yr old pretty much zapped that for me. But hey, maybe I'm just getting old.

Perp sounds like an all around great guy and neighbor:

"The gunman, identified by neighbors as Jimmy Lee Dykes, a 65-year-old retired truck driver, was known around the neighborhood as a menacing figure who once beat a dog to death with a lead pipe, threatened to shoot children for setting foot on his property and patrolled his yard at night with a flashlight and a shotgun. He had been scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning to answer charges he shot at his neighbors in a dispute last month over a speed bump."

I  do not think the little one will come out alive.. He already killed someone .. he took that step. He crossed over to somewhere where he cant fix it.Once you take that step and kill someone .. its over.

.History says that the kid wont make it..If he isnt already dead .I just hope not..

He is a coward ....he killed  someone and beat a dog  to death with a pipe..Hpw can you take a little dude like that and put him in a bunker?

The last word I heard, the kid was alive and unharmed. The cops had been able to send some of his medications down for him. He was watching TV.

I don't see how this can end well for him though. The nut was just looking for a hostage situation for some reason. Well, he has one now.

The history on this guy sounds like some of the neighbors we've had reported on here before.
