probably has to do with it being a way to carry a mag but without the mag being in the ready to fire position.

Sure there are, look closer at the 2nd girl from the right's belt. I would bet each of the others has at least one magazine on their person as well.

They have mags in belt in the first pic and I can't tell if that is a right angle mag coupler or a dummy mag in a right angle coupler in the second picture.

Up until last year in Afghanistan our troops had similar devices on their weapons which allowed them to have a mag ready without the weapon being loaded ( on base). Enough green on blue attacks have them carrying a full mag loaded in the weapon now.

They have some that also attach to your hand guard rail, almost like a forward grip, only it's a magazine. I'm against such things, of course. It won't go bang unless you switch the safety and pull the trigger. If someone can't carry a loaded rifle without having an ND they shouldn't be carrying it. Big plus one that she's carrying it with yoga pants. I can't see why anyone who is Jewish wouldn't live in Israel.
