Anyone here shoot there anymore? It's been years since I've been there... but I called them then the other day to see if their range was still open. (Yes, it is)

I know it's a short range, but it's close to the house and I want to try out some of my reloads.

Nope.  Not a big fan of getting hit with a .45 bounceback from the dude beside me shooting his sweet Ed Brown.  When I recounted the story to a local law enforcement officer and he said "yea, we call that the only range that shoots back"  that sealed it for me.

I was in there last weekend to check it out (never been there). After a quick walk around the front end I decided that was a place I never needed to return to.

Still looks like a dungeon, huh?

Don't know why it's still open, I'm thinking a lot of local cops visit it for a quick practice?

Back in the 70's it was about it for around here.

Are they selling guns there yet?  I went over there 6-8 months ago and they had lost their permit to sell firearms.

Yeah, I've wondered how it's stayed open for the last 15 to 20 years at least.

I've worked in retail for thirty years, so I know (from my infrequent visits....[have never purchased anything from them] and stories from others who have visited) their customer service is not the reason they're still around.

Isn't there a porn shop next door? Maybe the range has another purpose now? just saying.

Shooting handloads? ;)

As far as selling guns... they lost their FFL a couple years ago. Don't think they can sell guns anymore.

My wife got hit by a 45 bounce at a range down here, kinda scary!   It did not even cut into her jeans, thankfully.    The range went all out to correct the problem so that could not happen again even though it was the fault of the shooter (put target where it was clearly labeled to NOT put a target).

I think it could happen at any indoor range if you throw in a shooter that is doing something dumb.

We always referred to it as the dungeon. I kindve miss the smoke smell in gun stores. Although i also stopped going there when i was hit with a fragment. Mine hit my forehead though. I had to check my pants after i checked my forehead.

You know, looking back on it my experience wasn't all bad. I wanted to rent a .40 sig something or another but was short on cash, the counter guy gave me a deal on the ammo and gave me the gun rental for free. I just think that being as I'm about at the halfway point between there and CHMR it kind of a no brainer to me where I'd rather be. Kind of bummed I missed out on the smoking and swearing though...

Last time I was there I caught a piece on a bounceback on the lip and drew blood. I had 2 more free passes to shoot but threw them away. Never will catch me in there again!
