Kudos to him for being able to get past the emotional response and thinking this through.  He's spot on in his argument and seems to understand the situation well.

Wow.

His comments about civility.....   right on.

My mom also made me return a Hot Wheels car I stole from K-mart and apologize to the store manager when I was about age 8.  I've never forgotten how horrible I felt being forced to do that.

With me it was 4 cartons of cigarettes and I was 15. The father of the woman my dad was married to tore me a new one and I had to go apologize and pay back the money plus I got to spend a couple hrs in a jail cell. Broke me quick.

I saw this today on Fox when it first aired.  Agreed. tough to watch, but this guy really talks common sense.

The NRA could learn a few lessons from him.

Hopefully others hear his message, but I am willing to bet, you wont see this on the regular news media channels.

I must say, that the standing ovation he got at the end of he talk from those at the hearing was great!

That is exactly what we need at this moment in time, not some jerk saying they are gonna start shooting people if they take another inch.

Naturally, no matter what good we do, the other side will always try to paint us as "mean" and "unruly."

I didn't see any heckling in that video.  He asked a question and he got many answers.  No one shouting and no one interrupting him.  No one making fun of him.  At worst, it was talking out of turn.  And while that is usually considered rude, it's to be expected in a townhall style hearing.

If you don't like scary answers, then don't ask scary questions.
