What? You mean you can't fumble mags around like an epileptic monkey on crack? I have faith in you.

No Way! Surely that guy is a members of some Special Forces. Navy Seal, perhaps?

That type of shooting must take years to master. Still a greenhorn here.

I don't think it would have matter if he aimed at anything....he had burned out the rifling of that puppy long ago. If you watch you can see impacts low and left with him not aiming anywhere close to that point. When he walks away I figured he was going to toss the thing in the woods!

Good training point for American soldiers though. "Fire aimed shots at the small burning points down range....you'll probably hit them"

Thats because the cool kids get in actual firefights :D

**and to expand on that; cool kids don't wear gloves in combat because their hands get hot. They wear gloves because they are in an austere and hostile environment and extra protection from the hazards of beating hadji down is a plus.

I would say that heat should not be a problem when shooting your civilian rifle at a civilian range, paying for your ammo with civilian dollars.

(in other words; don't sweat it man...if you can afford to expend enough ammo over a sustained period time which results in your upper getting so hot that you need gloves or high speed rail covers, then you can certainly afford to buy said gloves or rail covers...)

So lets be honest with ourselves here; buy whatever rail covers look cool, and make you and your wallet happy.

Woa. You weren't even on my mind when I posted my gloves comment, so I hope you didn't take that as a stab at you.

I've got a pair of Mechanix gloves that I'll probably use when I shoot our SBR. Not because it makes me more tacitcooler but just because I'm going to have my support hand even closer to the muzzle blast than I would with a 16-inch bbl.

Plus it'll help me beat down any haji that might decide to put a jihad on me at the range. :D

Yep. You two have it correct. Tried replying with the above info earlier, but a huge storm blew through and knocked out power for several hours. Also tossed a tree into the side of my parent's house, and trees down all over the neighborhood and into ppl's yards and houses. Fun times.
