FGS .223 in Stock for WOW

Swung by FGS today to pick up a new range bag, checked their ammo supply and they have the normal gun frenzy prices on 9mm ammo ($20 a box of 50 for crappy range ammo), then I asked if they had any .223 in stock - "Sure" the guy said - $25.99 per box of 20 (That is $1.30 per round!).  "Match grade or JHP?" I ask.  "No, just normal FMJ ball ammo for plinking".  IMO, that is just plain not cool.  Ration the boxes, sure, but this stuff cost them probably $.10-$.15 a round.

They are surrounded by folks with plenty-o-money. Their doors would have been closed (or their prices would be lower) a long time ago had they been located in a different part of town.

Like TripleDiget suggests, their clientele seems to have more money than sense. I'm not someone who makes a lot of money but happen to live pretty near there. Used to be a customer when I first lives here 6 years ago. Luckily before I moved back to Tn. I found TGO and since then have been spending money with members and vendors. When it comes to FGS, just say no.

I bought my first gun from them, then found TGO, the only thing I have bought since then is a range bag.   :)

Was in there today also. I looked at the ammo wall as I was paying for some other items and my eyes lit up thinking I would add onto my purchase. The light quickly faded though when he told me the prices of the available ammo.

Franklin Walmart has 5.56 in stock, or their web site says they do.

 

I bet it is a little cheaper than FGS as well.

 

PS I have never seen it go green on walmarts website in Franklin before.

I have absolutely no idea what factory ammo cost. I feel bad for guys that got caught with their pants down.
