Kudos to Mark.

Looks like I'll be smart and come down tomorrow.

Not good here, freezing rain.  They've brined and salted but the roads are potentially pretty ugly.  Wait until it warms up.j

You can ice skate here on sevier county roads. The salt brine made a great solid base for the ice to adhere to.

Im fixin to make a go down my road on a box or something. ( yes ill record it in case I crash.) Edited by Tncobra

Freezing rain just started here too. I'm in for the day.

I have coffee and bourbon. I'm good.

I think the main roads in Knoxville are still good, but the side roads are pretty bad.  My chariot (AKA Minivan) in encased in ice. Luckily I am off today, but I have no intention of leaving the confines of my recliner, other than for eating and bathroom breaks!!! :)

Got word in Knoxville that the mayor was riding in a salt truck and it ran off the road, and also that a trooper ran off the road, had a heart attack and that the rescue/fire truck came out, slid off the road and on top of the cruiser.

Anyone confirm this? Going to reserve comments until we know exactly what's going on

Trooper did indeed have a medical problem and is now deceased.  Rural Metro fire truck ended up on its side trying to get to him, hitting a citizen performing CPR on the trooper in the process.

High tomorrow is 40. Should be fine. I drove on interstate at 5pm and all was fine.

Raoul what time are you coming?

As early as I can get away. I hope to be there by 10:30.
