A$$hats are trying to blame the NRA. How about the take responibility for their own actions. Every other show before this had the same type of displays and now they kowtow to the media and exempt AR/mags from the show? Guess they paid the price for playing stupid games.

They deserve it. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes. They also need to grow a spine and accept the facts instead of being little girls playing the blame game.

NSSF Statement on the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show

Clarifies the (soon to be former) role of Reed Exhibitions regarding the SHOT show. Someone asked in the other thread.

We have just learned that Reed Exhibitions has decided to postpone the 2013 Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show.

In the days following Reed Exhibitions’ announcement that modern sporting rifles would be prohibited from the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, the leadership of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has been in intense, frank discussions with Reed Exhibitions management in an effort to reverse this unacceptable decision. These discussions reached an impasse.

NSSF is in no way affiliated with, nor does it participate in or exhibit at this show in any way. Reed Exhibitions does, however, manage the NSSF-owned SHOT Show (though Reed manages the SHOT Show, all SHOT Show decisions, policies and actions are made at NSSF’s direction).

Because of Reed’s recent actions, NSSF is considering all options regarding the management of future SHOT Shows.

That's like seeing your job listed in the want ads.

Though this "You're either with us, or against us" attitude is likely to alienate more than a few.

Those who are, need to be. We need to be choosing sides and supporting our team.

Great!  Need more corporate citizens with brass balls like this!  I think if firearm manufacturers and other outdoor sports product manufacturers pulled their products from stores like Dick's, they would begin to see the combined influence of the firearm/hunting/sportsman communities.

I didn't mean to imply it was a bad thing.  I'm quite pleased that so many business owners decided to voice their opinion in such a strong way.

There were also thousands of people notifying Reed that because of their stance towards modern firearms, they would not be attending! This is going to make some businesses take notice and I hope Congress as well.  If we all don't stand together we will get steamrolled!  I'd rather be doing the steamrolling of the other side!!!

Let em blame the NRA (me), because I am the NRA!  How about you!

I got into a tizzy with someone at work the other day, they were talking about guns in general, but suddenly made a unfavorable remark at the NRA, and I abrubtly step in, and said I am the NRA, what is wrong with that!  They were apalled that I belong to them, and I had to pin them down on what did the NRA do, and they should quit listening to media period!

I keep my NRA card at the front of my wallet. It gets seen whenever I buy anything. I am not ashamed!

I know people (myself included) have had problems with the NRA in the past. I'll have to say I think they've seen the light and they are standing their ground firm this go around.

I can say I'm proud to be a NRA life member and have been actively signing other people up. Let the MSM keep trying to run them into the ground, every time they do membership spikes.

Looks like there's rumors of a class action floating around from the vendors:

http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/01/chris-dumm/does-reed-exhibitions-have-a-lawsuit-target-on-its-back/#more-194641

And, looks like the impact of the locals is $80mil in lost revenue.

Tourism officials at the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau (HHRVB) estimate the postponement of the state’s largest outdoor sports show means $44 million in direct spending from vendors and attendees and $80 million in lost revenue for the local economy.

TTAG said if Reed gets hit with the right suit, it will bankrupt them. And I hope so
