I listened to about half of the C-Span coverage of yesterday's Gun Violence Task Force.  The first question posed to the invited speakers was: How many rounds do you have in your gun while hunting?  One said 3 rounds for waterfowl, and another said 5 rounds for big game, and the retired ATF officer said 15 for hunting bad guys.

No statistics of any kind,just sob stories 

 

Not ONE statistic or reference to support any of their assumptions or assertions. 

Not ONE time did they recite the Second amendment.
Not ONE reason to rebuke, "Shall Not Be Infringed".
Not ONE word about how to fix the root problem, damaged people.

My feelings are that the NRA is asleep at the wheel on this one.  Beyond the press conference with LaPierre, they have done nothing.  Where is the NRA press conference with academics talking about the data, law enforcement officials talking about the problems with dealing with the mentally ill who commit these mass shootings, and crime victims who used a weapon in self defense?  This is likely a battle that will be won with public support.  If the only message getting out is the one put out by the Feinstein crew, our side is sunk.

 

Hopefully they're busy lobbying the Congress and Senate. The "poll" that will be taken by those folks in DC is really what matters at this point. Vote it downs boys and girls, vote it down.

Still hasn't gotten into .gov system yet I reckon, can't find link anywhere, not even on Feinstein's site.
