Im tired of the hunting references. Like everyone that has guns are hunters. I must have missed the part in the 2nd amendment where they said its purpose was hunting.

The Chief of the Philadelphia Police Department is standing on national television saying that he supports the AWB due to the "carnage" they cause, but then says he "is not an expert on firearms" and can't speak to how they function while pointing at a display of AR-15 rifles. :shake:

Nashville, TN is one of the cities that is part of the Major Cities Chiefs Police Association. Charles Ramsey is representing that organization to help pass this "Assault" Weapons ban.

I want to know where all of the law enforcement leaders who oppose this garbage are right now.  Are they going to hold a press conference or do the majority of police executives actually support this?

I doubt there are too many, other than politician police chiefs that do support this. Have never heard a number, though.

My feelings are that the NRA is asleep at the wheel on this one.  Beyond the press conference with LaPierre, they have done nothing.  Where is the NRA press conference with academics talking about the data, law enforcement officials talking about the problems with dealing with the mentally ill who commit these mass shootings, and crime victims who used a weapon in self defense?  This is likely a battle that will be won with public support.  If the only message getting out is the one put out by the Feinstein crew, our side is sunk.
