I have been looking around and yet found nothing on this topic, is it possible its due to new sheriff just got elected? or Montgomery County won't take sides?

Can someone direct me to the status of this County with in comes to new/future edicts/laws/regulation/restrictions or anything on 2A issue.

I don’t think you will find many top law dogs that will play “What if”. However, refusal to enforce the laws you swore to uphold could be construed as “Malfeasance in office” and could get them booted. The state can safely take a stand but a Sherriff can’t unless he ready to face the consequences.

Received this message last week from Sheriff Buck:

"As Sheriff of McNairy County it is my job to protect the constitutional rights of our citizens. The second amendment is a right, not a privilege and shall not be infringed upon. As long as I am Sheriff of McNairy County, I will not allow anyone to seize any firearms from law abiding citizens within this county.”

Considering that when you go into the MCSO to get your NFA paperwork done there is a retiree volunteer that more or less helps you with your paperwork becuase he truly doesn't want your stuff kicked back from the ATF, I'd say Montgomery County is the last place on earth you need to worry.

The only issue we have is carry in parks. It is a crime to carry in many parks in Clarksville, as per the city council. I tried to get a resolution in this year, but not enough Clarksvillians here on TGO decided to contact their Ward reps to get their stance. So carry in parks will continue to be illegal (in the main parks) until folks decide to do something about it. Edited by TMF

that had been a tough opposition on that one in this city, i don't know why they can't see the logic out of self-defense..... I have seen a lot of articles about that. But I believe you can leave your weapon on your vehicle when visiting parks.

in any case, why doesn't State Law supersede the city ordinance?

They can opt out.

Anyway, the problem is I believe there is support for legal carry in parks. From what I understand there are only 3 die hard anti gunners on the council. If we had a concerted effort to change the law and influence our Ward reps I think we would see it changed, but not enough people care enough to do anything so screw it. Edited by TMF
what can i do to help? point and i will follow.
It would require folks in each Ward to contact their reps and get their opinion on carry in parks by emailing an intelligently written document outlining the reasons why banning legal carry does nothing to stop illegal behavior perpetrated by criminals. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/49036-clarksville-parks-carry-thread/?hl=%2Bclarksville+%2Bparks
