Mike, You wound me!:tough:

Jackdog, thanks! I fully intend to try it out at the shoot at the end of this month... since we're working up here in the tri-cities for about 2 or 3 days next week (yay, I can split my per diem with Mark and stay at his house!!) I will probably make a run down on saturday to pick it up. I will also get a chance to check out mike and austin's shop!!!

Mark, that's a great incentive to put money back!

I also intend to have your present by the time your birthday rolls around. no worries there...just don't buy one before hand will ya?

and no..I won't break my promise...I'll make Julie buy it for him...:D

Aaaaw! Now I feel guilty about wanting to get you that insanely tacky tie for your birthday! Elliott's already asked me if "gifts" count. LOL

Yeah, well, guilt lasts a little while, practical jokes are funny for years. I'm betting on the tie.

Well guys,

I got the Ishapore Enfield home, got it cleaned up and then decided to take it down to the range to see what it could do.

I fired at the small bull in the bottom right corner of the target paper and even with iron sights this thing will SHOOT!

holy crap will it shoot! I wasn't attempting accuracy, just wanted to see what sort of holes it would put on the paper, before it started raining.

I fired this group without a sling, offhand.

Once I get it dialed in, I'm pretty sure I can cut those groups in half. should I put a scope on it, I think I can get excellent groups out to 800 yards...we'll see what happens though!

I think I got a great rifle! also, I doubt that it translates to what I think..but there's a star on the barrel, near the reciever. it's stamped into the top with a W beneath it.

can anyone tell me what that mark means? I'm thinking star gauge barrel but I doubt it..

Now I see why everyone likes those targets with the bullseyes in all four corners.

.....uh, yeah, I was aiming at that one.

Congrats BTW.

HAH! :)

as silly as it sounds, I meant to shoot at that one..it was a used target on the target frame and I wanted to get some rounds downrange before it really started pouring...it was starting to rain when I put up the frame.

thanks..I think I'm going to put a scope rail and a scope on this one..and add a sling.
