Elliott, the first step is to admit you have a problem....

:D

I am in if anyone wants to get a pool going on his next purchase, LOL

And when I read the thread title I wondered why you were buying a Motorcycle.

Congrats on the boomstick. Got to missing enfields, did you?

That one in .308, or .303?

Wow, Julie sure is understanding. Thought it was her turn to get a gun?

Good luck on the 'last gun this year' thing. Was that last gun, or last long gun?

Hey, you know I turn .45 this year. You know what I'd really like for my birthday?

A nice tie. Yeah, a tie, thats' it...

I mean, that'd be appropriate, right? Because I, uh, like ties so much!

So, Verb, this pool - I'm in.

Mark I just peed myself, that was great stuff.

aha I just figured out the loophole. The year he refers to is a fiscal year that ends on July 10th. I think he can make it nine more days.

Ishy .308's are great rifles! Ammo is a lot easier to find and to reload for, too. I picked up one several years ago and really like it. I brought it to our last shoot at Owl Hollow in June.

Now you need to find 1907 sword bayonet and a cup launcher.

Thanks, Mike. I am so getting the worlds' ugliest tie this year.

Somewhere I have an enfield spike bayonet... the blades are a lot nicer. A cup launcher... tennis balls?

Posted

yes, its an Ishpoor Enfield! the serial numbers match on the receiver and the bolt, the stock is in pretty good condition...has a few dings and such but the barrel still has the bluing on it..none of the black paint.

I've wanted one for a while now. My wife is getting aggravated with me though. she said "you can only shoot one at the time, 2 if they're pistols"...

I told her I'm collecting them. she said something about 'don't try and get all of them by the end of the year'...so I promised her I'd hold off for a year so we can apply the money to other things.

Whats this "other things" you speak of!

Julie is way too smart to fall for that 365 days thing. Next it's, "Honey what is this new gun in the closet?" "Oh dear, I've that for some time." (3 days)

that gives me an idea....anyone have a can of dust laying around? :)

Phantom just called me. He said that he just finished faxing his ffl information to the fella so I should see it in about 2 days. which will be nice! I can make a quick trip down from Kingsport to pick it up, or he said he'd come and open the shop up on Sunday so I could pick up the rifle on the way back here to Chattanooga.

now THAT is service!

Yep let's start a pool. Tower a year without a gun purchase that's just the funniest thing I'e ever heard.

Hey congrats on the enfield.

Tower and Jules want to put back for a downpayment on a home. I was sort of planning on giving him my IHC or an M1A as a housewarming gift. Hope knowing this ahead of time helps. Kind of an incentive, you might say.

Aaaaw! Now I feel guilty about wanting to get you that insanely tacky tie for your birthday! Elliott's already asked me if "gifts" count. LOL
