Sadly the full journal article is currently subscription only, but I've requested a copy.

Main points are that after interviewing the victims the conclusion was that anger managment and conflict resolution education was the best couse of action.

I know "mass shootings" are what the media are all about ATM but statitistically this is the population that needs our attention to reduce voilence resulting in gunshots admitted to the ED.

"Gimme your wallet or I am going to kill you"

--- "You seem angry and hostile, how do you FEEL about that"

Nope, not gonna work methinks.

If you throw out the assaults that are pure evil (rape, robbery, or just murder for fun),  the criminal element (rival gang, rival drug dealer, double crossed ilicit transaction, etc),  the whackos (mass shootings, rampage for fun, etc), and accidents (derp, it was LOADED and just "went off")  what you have left is a very tiny number of shootings where to idiots, often under the influence of something (back to being criminals and victimless crime again) get into a fight (often they know each other, relatives or even drunk friends) and one of em shoots the other.

For that 0.1 % of shootings where the guys get PO'ed and shoot each other in anger, they might be on to something.   But this is a very, very low number (again, ignoring the criminals that know each other, even if it is out of anger --- that does not count for me).

I was going to say just about what you did, Jonnin. Anger management ain't going to help too many of those. :D In fact, the suggestion

of anger management might get a few of them more riled up.
