Has been subject here several or more times, I'll let you do the searching. :)

Vid is made of clips from movie An American Story. Not bad, apparently, made for TV, never got a chance to see it, always wanted to since I grew up in Athens and vaguely knew a couple of guys who had participated.  But they set it in Texas for some inexplicable reason!

Google will get you various hits.

That was a great piece of history that I have never seen. Thank's for the post.

I just read about it, interesting.  What's the saying "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it?"

I think there is a general feeling among the libs that something like that couldn't happen in this day and age (especially on a larger scale).

I'm not saying something like this will happen anytime soon. But if things go as they are going....who knows. This type of rebellion should be held for when all options have run out.

I did see where this movie clip was set someplace in Texas, I figure they felt since Texas was so far from Washington and almost like it's own country, Most of the sheeple wouldn't be able to put 2 and 2 together.

Maybe they felt it would appeal to the texans better. I don't know.

A friend of mine who lives in CT and has property in Athens TN, asked me about this. He has told me he plans on moving down here permanently in a few years. I see if things come to pass, he'll move a lot sooner.

And i first met him on the can-am forum i'm with.

I was reading about the Battle of Athens recently. It's an interesting tale, and a perfect show of what the power of the 2nd amendment can bring about. In this case, it ended a corrupt local government... and perhaps it can also end a corrupt state or federal government?

I know a man named Cantrell, though. Hmmmm...
