rg 38 spezial made in germany

Recommended Posts

I could use a little help. I have an  rg38 spezial  68 model 2 inch barrel made in germany. I know most people consider them to be junk but I have a friend who want to buy if for his daughter for home defense and I would like it to function properly.

Here is the problem, the ejector rod works its way out of the cylinder when shooting it. I completely tore down the cylinder and cannot figure what is suppose to hold the ejector rod in place. The front of the ejector rod has a screw slot in it so im wondering if its suppose to thread into the cylinder? I dont see any threads anywhere though.  I have looked at numriches schematic and that really dont show me any fine detail of the parts.  If anyone has any advice i'd appreciate it. Thanks

I have experience with the 22 version of that gun.  As I recall. the ejector rod held itself in via tension. If that is correct, it seems like yours is worn out.  Don't take my word for it though, it has been several years since i handled one and may be making this up...but it is a good starting point.
