I bought a Neos U22 at Pope's last gunshow, 4.5" barrel and pretty Barretta Blue grip.

Wife dislikes shooting 380 or 9mm  So I figured a 22 is more her speed.

She is not afraid to shoot this little gem. We punched about 400 holes Saturday.

Gun functions very well. Have occassional magazine feed problems, sometimes "feels rough/sticky" as cartridges are sliding up.

Minor issue as this is to practice making holes in paper.

Wife is starting to get tighter groups, she is hitting the target at 10 yrds.

She also got her first "gun hickie", hot spent cartridge on the throat :ugh:.

Sorry, no pics, camera is dead.

Any advice to help get her to the range more often?

Oh yeah, any ideas on magazine feed problem, too..... :)

My wife bought a Neos a while back. She loves it, wears out the silhouettes with it.

Next time you take her to the range, surprise her and take her out to dinner afterward. Make that a habit.

My Neos ran like crap until i found an ammo it liked. It has gone through almost 1k CCI Mini-Mags so far without a hiccup.

Are the magazines factory Beretta mags? I cant recall ever having any magazine related issues.

Edit...On getting her out to the range. Find a gun that she can shoot easily and accurately to get her started. Maybe try a good accurate 22lr rifle with a big scope. Putting the bullet where she aims without having to worry so much about trigger control or grip should help get her confidence level up. You could also try "fun" targets. If you are at an outdoor range, try some sporting clays for targets or one of the spinning metal targets (if the range allows them). If you are on private property, shake up some coke cans for a good explosion or try some golf balls.

Congrats on the new plinker. I have put a few hundred rounds through them and they are cool looking. I just got my wife out to the range yesterday for the first time in 15 years. Had intentions of her shooting my G34 (9mm) but after a few magazines, she complained about the recoil. I could see she wasn't really having too much fun. Thank goodness I brought my Walther P22 and a couple hundred rounds of cheap .22 ammo. Once she got through 2 mags, I could see she was liking it. Although her grip and stance weren't the best, she was liking it. I went on to the next lane and let her have at it. Then Frank (yes ETS Frank) stopped by and helped her with her stance (Weaver- and no doubt cause she was dressed in pink and looking kind of hot :P). Although it didn't help her with accuracy, she did seem to feel more confident. Afterwards, she said she had fun and will go back. I told her I knew someone who had a pink P22 with her name written all over it but she replied "I'm sure you have enough guns for us both"..... Damn, she's quick. Anyway, like Easily said, it's more about building their confidence and having fun then anything else. By the way, Frank does have the coolest toys!

Most .22s are notoriously and inherently picky when it comes to ammo. I have had good luck with CCI Mini Mag and Federal Premium Gold Medal- it becomes worse if you have a sticky magazine. In addition to trying other brands of ammo, I suggest you buy a new magazine. This is my latest plinker.

Thanks for the replies!!

As to taking DA BOSS to dinner and/or jewlery...

She'll be fat and happy, but I'll be gun poor!!!

She has admitted to liking the U22, so this is encouraging (plus ammo is CHEEEEP)

EasilyObsessed, I will try changing ammo and see how that works.

Oldfella, very purdy gun.

stickj,,,, I had to set priorities: camera or feed my guns...... guess what I chose? :P

One more recommendation....

Try out a red dot sight on it. I am running a Millett sight on my Neos and I love it! That will take one more "hard" element out of shooting for her and it also makes it more "fun". :)

Words in quotes are from my female family members who have shot the Neos :)
