Buddy of mine found a revolver that a buddy of his had just sittin in storage and wanted some info on it. It's a Smith and Wesson .32 WCF with a serial number of 92317. I can't speak as to condition as I haven't actually seen so much as a picture of it, but we're just trying to find out as much as we can. Any help and ANY info is appreciated.

I dug out my SCSW and started looking up your pistol. First thing I found is that S&W chambered pistols in .32 S&W and in .32 WCF, also know as .32-20.

S&W made 3 different models in .32 S&W from 1880 to 1970 with the same serial number range as yours, so I'd need a picture to identify the model.

If your revolver is truly marked .32 WCF then, from the serial #, it's a S&W Hand Ejector, Model of 1905, 4th change, made between 1915 (SN 65701) and 1940 (SN 144684).

I have one. The 32-20s aren't real common, and command quite a premium over their 38 Special counterparts, assuming good, original condition. They are a real hoot to shoot, but you'll likely want to reload for it. Also, DO NOT shoot ammo intended for rifle only in your revolver.
