Sweet gun and great for her.

Nice gun.  I just got my wife the same gun a few weeks ago.  First time out we shot 50 perfect Remington UMC roundball through it without issue - mostly my wife shooting.  I'm not sure we ever filled the magazine all the way (we have the 7 round, but she was putting 5 and 6 rounds in it).  Second time out we tried Critical Defense and Speer Gold Dots...each time it would fail to feed the first round, so I assumed it did not like hollow points.  Since then I gave it a good cleaning and have read that we should not just "drop" the slide (by releasing the slide stop) to chamber the first round, but we should actually pull the slide back (even though it is just a little bit) to get a slight increase in force to push the first round into the chamber.  Has anybody else experienced this or is it unique to us?  Happened to me, my son and my wife.  The gun fits her well and she is ready to take her permit class in early March...would like to have resolution on this before she goes to class, and certainly before she carries.  Thanks, B

My wife's feeds hollow points fine from the slide release, but I haven't tried it while it was hot. Does it jamb when it cools down?

Poor_Dog...the gun wasn't hot.  Just loaded a few hollow points and it would not feed into the chamber without a lot of fidgeting and taps/racks/etc.  It repeated the same behavior multiple times, so it wasn't a matter of the gun being hot or cool.

We've had a few problems also, just try different ammo until you find the right combination.

One of my wife's most accurate handguns.  She hated shooting it, but goodness was she accurate :)

I hope to someday getting her a pocket/purse gun again that she's happy with :)  Until then, she likes her nightstand gun ... XDm9c :)

I would not recommend purse carry ever. Pocket or holster only. The reason is the purse is the first thing a bad guy grabs. If he is successful then he has the gun and her most effective way to end the confrontation. And even if he doesn't get the purse the struggle over the purse will likely prevent her from putting her gun into use.

This may be a break in issue?  Or a magazine friction issue, might look at the feed lips?  It should NOT be so --- mine feeds fine with JHP (same as yours crit def & GD) using the thumb release (feeds all ammo fine loading a new mag this way).

I think this is the best of the small 380s, and a great choice.  I have moved to the 9mm version but I kept my 380 because I like it a lot.
