"That Obama's a piece of sh*t"

Getting his attack dogs to do his dirty work. I see where his new friendship with Hillary is bearing fruit.

Say what you want about McCain and his service or whatever, but this is a new low. And Wesley Clark is a moron.

WASHINGTON - Retired Gen. Wesley Clark, a former Democratic presidential candidate now supporting Barack Obama, said Sunday John McCain's military service does not automatically qualify him to be commander in chief.

Underscoring during a national television appearance a position he has been expressing for several weeks, Clark said performing heroic military service is not a substitute for gaining command experience.

"In the matters of national security policy making, it's a matter of understanding risk," he said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "It's a matter of gauging your opponents and it's a matter of being held accountable. John McCain's never done any of that in his official positions. I certainly honor his service as a prisoner of war. He was a hero to me and to hundreds of thousands and millions of others in the armed forces, as a prisoner of war.

"He has been a voice on the Senate Armed Services Committee and he has traveled all over the world, but he hasn't held executive responsibility," Clark said. "That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded — that wasn't a wartime squadron."

Moderator Bob Schieffer, who raised the issue by citing similar remarks Clark has made previously, noted that Obama hadn't had those experiences nor had he ridden in a fighter plane and been shot down. "Well, I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president," Clark replied.

In a March conference call with reporters while he was still backing Hillary Rodham Clinton, Clark said: "Everybody admires John McCain's service as a fighter pilot, his courage as a prisoner of war. There's no issue there. He's a great man and an honorable man. But having served as a fighter pilot — and I know my experience as a company commander in Vietnam — that doesn't prepare you to be commander in chief in terms of dealing with the national strategic issues that are involved. It may give you a feeling for what the troops are going through in the process, but it doesn't give you the experience first hand of the national strategic issues."

He reiterated that position last week in an article on The Huffington Post Web site.

"If Barack Obama's campaign wants to question John McCain's military service, that's their right," McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said after Clark's appearance Sunday. "But let's please drop the pretense that Barack Obama stands for a new type of politics. The reality is he's proving to be a typical politician who is willing to say anything to get elected, including allowing his campaign surrogates to demean and attack John McCain's military service record."

I saw that interview this morning. I could not believe what came out of Gen Clarks mouth. I had to turn it off.

You know, Gen. Clark might or might not be right, but I apparently missed Obama's time as a great military leader. And seriously, you can't pretend that every good President we've ever had has a history of combat leadership. A good leader isn't the one who knows everything; it's the one who knows what he doesn't know, and surrounds himself with the right people to support him.

Admiral Spruance was a great example of this. When Halsey picked Spruance to command the fleet at Midway, some folks thought it was nuts to pick a non-aviator to command a carrier task force. But Spruance knew enough to surround himself with trusted advisors, and to listen to their input. And we all know what happened at Midway.

I'm not a big McCain fan, but this is just a dumb attack.

Obama has not put his butt on the line at any time that I remember and Clark is a dork. Don't know anyone who would follow him to the mess hall!

This is the thing that constantly mystifies me about Obama and why he is so popular.... what exactly has he done to show that he can lead a country??? Being half black sure as hell doesn't mean he can do diddly squat other than win over the hearts and minds of weak minded Americans.

And always has been. He's a little man w/ big political ambitions (if you have followed anything he's said in the last 10 years, you will know what I mean).

Notice that he didn't say anything until AFTER Hill/Bill was out of the race? He's so far up Clinton's butt that his feet twitch when he/she farts.

What strikes me is just the stupidity of it. Clinton wasn't qualified either. Neither is Obama. In fact, arguably just 3 presidents were: Washington, Grant, and Eisenhower. Maybe Jackson.

And they are hardly a list of our greatest.

It is a stupid thing to pick on, highlighting one of McCain's strong points and one of Obama's weak ones.

It is a very ham-handed poorly thought out criticism and it had to come from Obama's campaign.

I suspect we will see more and more incidents of Obama The Bungler as we go on.

Yep, Clark has a Douglas MacArthur complex. He's very important. Just ask him.

I really feel sorry for the grandkids to come. They could end up inheriting a cesspool.

Here is from today's news. Now he gets to distance himself from the remarks. I guess that strategy backfired, like the presidential seal nonsense.

Who is advising this guy again??

Oh, and I liked to McCain's response.

Obama also sought to tamp down controversy surrounding comments over the weekend from a supporter. Retired Gen. Wesley Clark said in a television appearance that the Vietnam War-era military service of John McCain, Obama's Republican opponent, does not necessarily qualify him to be commander in chief.

McCain was a fighter pilot who was captured and held as a prisoner of war for more than five years.

Obama said that patriotism "must, if it is to mean anything, involve the willingness to sacrifice" and sought to distance himself from Clark's remarks without mentioning them.

"For those like John McCain who have endured physical torment in service to our country — no further proof of such sacrifice is necessary," Obama said. "And let me also add that no one should ever devalue that service, especially for the sake of a political campaign, and that goes for supporters on both sides."

The comment drew loud applause.

At a news conference in Harrisburg, Pa., McCain was asked about Clark's comments.

"I think that that kind of thing is unnecessary," McCain said. "I'm proud of my record of service, I have plenty of friends, leaders who will attest to that.

"The important thing is if that's the kind of campaign Senator Obama and his surrogates and supporters want to engage in, I understand that. But it doesn't reduce the price of gas by one penny. It doesn't achieve our energy independence or make it come any closer. Doesn't make any American stay in their home who's at risk of losing it today. And it certainly doesn't do anything to address the challenges Americans have in keeping their jobs, homes and supporting their families."

Separately, in a statement, Obama spokesman Bill Burton said, "As he's said many times before, Sen. Obama honors and respects Senator McCain's service, and of course he rejects yesterday's statement by Gen. Clark."

I find myself in a neutral position regarding these comments.

1. There are people who believe John McCain should be elected merely because he is a veteran and former P.O.W. (They seem to think he has an entitlement to the presidency.) While these things are respectable, I do not think they automatically qualify one to be president, and specifically, I do not care for McCain's politics.

2. I believe Wesley Clark is blow hard. He believes he knows everything and that his opinion is so important because he is a former high-ranking military official.

I wish both McCain and Clark would both shut up and go away.

Just got this e-mail today, thought I would share.

Have you ever heard that a dog "knows" when an earthquake is about to hit?Have you ever heard that a dog can "sense" when a tornado is stirring up, even 20 miles away?

Do you remember hearing that before the December tsunami struck Southeast Asia, dogs started running frantically away from the seashore, at breakneck speed?

Do you know that dogs can detect cancer and other serious illnesses and danger of fire?

Somehow they always know when they can go for a ride before you even ask and how do those dogs and cats get home from hundreds of miles away?

I'm a firm believer that animals and especially dogs have keen insights into the Truth.

And you can't tell me that dogs can't sense a potentially terrible disaster well in advance.

Simply said, a dog just KNOWS when something isn't right when impending doom is upon us they'll always try to warn us....!!

I'm not neutral at all. I wish Obama would shut up and go away. McCain is inept, Clark is a tool, Obama is all flash and no substance.
