East Ridge TN intruder stopped by armed homeowner.

The warning is the locked door they're breaking in to. If they aren't smart enough to figure out what a locked door means at a private residence, they have earned that hot lead injection. Edited by TMF

I am actually surprised he got the warnings. Most around here wouldn't have been so kind. East Ridge is a strange town and I always get a weird vibe every time I go over there. From a business standpoint, it is mostly populated with fast food, cash advance joints, etc. The street signs are blue, like they use across the state line in Georgia, which borders part of East Ridge. Unfortunately, part of it sits adjacent to the Brainerd area of Chattanooga as well. Not the best part of town.

If a pane on my dorr had been broken, and he was still fighting to get in after weapons presentation and a verbal warning, there wouldn't have been a warning shot. He would have gotten shot. As was mentioned earlier, it sounds like someone didn't have the mindset to actually use the weapon for self defense.

I probably would have only told him one time to keep his hand outside of the house. The next time he reached his hand in and tried to unlock the door, he would have had his hand bashed or had a 230 gr .45 XTP put through his hand/wrist. He would have moved it then! "We the people", need to stop playing with these idiots!

In short, it seemed to work out for the couple!

Sadly in today's world wounding an intruder only gets us in civil court where we can be sued for everything we own. A dead man can not speak nor can he file charges, although the family may in the instance but regardless I hope I'm never put in that situation and if so I think I'd rather deal with the family over a wounded sympathetic thug in court. Every libtard needs to read this. The LEO don't live at your home, and therefore are limited in their ability to protect you and your family.

Even better is the fact this was within the city limits of a town where there is more police per capita than anywhere else I can think of. If this turd would have picked a house 500 ft away in the City of Chattanooga there is no telling when the police would have arrived. Go to some of the unincorporated county communities and the Sheriff's Dept is as much as 20 minutes away.
