Good Find at Academy: Kershaw Whirlwind

I had some Christmas gift cards to burn up, today and decided to check out Academy Sports for some firearm gear. I was looking for a cheap nightstand safe or some night sites for my Glock. No such luck.

Lower on my list of wants/needs was a multitool and a folder. I wanted a Leatherman Wingman for its size, tools and price. I wanted a Kershaw, spring assisted folder but wasn't particular about which one. I really wanted a Scallion but they were out. I looked at the Whirlwind and liked the blade and price: $49.

With tax, the total should have burned up all but a few bucks of the $100 gift card. I wasn't paying attention to the transaction because my son was hamming it up. The cashier handed me my receipt and the gift card and said "you have $52.20 left on the card." what's this now? The folder rang up CORRECTLY at $13.99!

Pretty happy. The blade is decent but the handle is cheap plastic...or at least it feels that way.

Score! That's a sweet deal, because I'm pretty sure those are $50-$60 knives. Congrats!
