Shotgun + Slug = Hole in Roof?

What so you guys can rub it in? :) I'll see if I can get some for ya. I will say that the powder residue on the ceiling is my main cosmetic problem at the moment. The hole is pretty small considering. My main problem with a leak is all this dadgum rain we're having and me being able to get to it. Brazilnuts has offered to help me out though so it should all work out. The worst part of this whole thing was breaking it to the wife. I chickened out and texted her the news. It's a lot harder to hear the yelling through text.  :hiding:  :stick:

Dood...  You told her?   Grab some spackle and some paint and fix the interior hole before she gets home.   How often do you look at the ceiling in the closet anyway?  The next day.... aw dang it honey, it looks like the roof it leaking from all this rain.  I'll go look for the leak and fix it so we don't have to pay a roofer a bunch of money.

Back in 1980, I learned not to use a new, perfectly good truck hood as a bench rest (pad or not).

No hole, but had a 3/8" dia crease, about 18" long, dead center on a white hood, less than 60 days old.

Sighting in, and had a "where did that one go ??" moment.

I'm not going to criticize as you are your worst critic, however... Glad no one was seriously injured.

I've shot many things with a 12 ga. slug. Unless you got lucky hitting a 2x6 inch ceiling Joyce dead on, you have a hole through your roof somewhere, trust me!  A 12 ga. slug is one of the few things that will penetrate ballistic lexan.

I seriously debated not telling and even had it spackled before I left for work. However, the hole is smack in the middle of our ceiling above our bed so the color differentiation would have eventually ratted me out. Plus, I'm not always a lights off kinda guy ya know what I mean? :dirty:
