Never knew there was a "dress code" to make your voice heard on your rights.

really?  dress to impress... don't give us a bad image... Don't want every one to think we are a bunch of gun toting idiot slobs do you?

I was disappointed. I got there expecting to see the Capitol grounds covered. I saw the small group, couldn’t find any parking and left.

I had never been in the capitol area before. I hope if there is another one of these it is held somewhere else. If 50K people had showed up as some talked about, it would have just been a traffic jam.

I took a nice camera but didn't realize I had removed the memory card for something or another.  So I just hung out down the steps from the Fox News camera with the thing hanging around my neck.

I was a little worried about what I might find when I got there but that crowd made Tennessee gun owners look pretty good.

Thanks for coming to the event guys.  I apologize if it was not as big as you expected.  We had over 1000 people show up, which is not bad considering that Teri and I started organizing it only about 5 days beforehand. I had many nights of only 3-4 hours of sleep and still had to go to work everyday.  For those of you who do not know I am the dude in the black fleece coat behind the speakers in all the pictures.  I was able to meet a few of you even though I cannot remember your TGO names (MCurrier was one I think).  I got to meet lots of great folks there.  It was a real pleasure.  The Fox 17 reporter actually got annoyed with me because I kept talking to everyone that came up to thank me and I made him wait for a little while.

We believe that this event was a great success and we will be planning more.  We have not determined dates or locations yet.  So stay tuned for that.  Next time, we want to have at least a few weeks to prepare.  That way we can get better press exposure and also take better care of the details.  The sound was not very good, but I assure you that the next time it will not be an issue. We are already working on that.  Thanks again to those of you who attended.

Also a very special thanks to the speakers.  I will be reaching out to a couple of them again for the next event.  Specifically, Joe Carr and Nikki Goeser.

Updates will be posted on our Facebook page "Guns Across America - Tennessee".

Well, maybe we TGO members need to get some gear, Hint hint, David.... lol

I'd love to have some shirts with the TGO emblem or at least a hat.

At least so we might break the ice better when we come across each other. And when we have these rallies, get the word out about the forum. Maybe drum up new members.

The more people we have on our side, the better in the long run.

Tgo have a hat and its in Pink :) now i wish it comes in different colors or atleast on black/blue

Thanks to everyone who showed up. I was disappointed in the crowd but proud to be a part.  I felt I had no choice but to commit a couple hours on a beautiful Sat. and defend our constitution. Thanks to all the speakers. I took this photo after struggling to find a restroom. I am just glad I had my Mt. Dew bottle. :stunned:

Went with Creeky and his crew. Thought it was a good turn out.

Used the camera phone to show how many were there.

I wouldn't go by any amount our local or nation news sources report.

Chances are it was more if not double the amount they're saying.....

We got there early, so the entire crowd hadn't really gathered, yet.

All in all, a great turn out for a great cause.

I drove by on my way to park about 11:45 and it looked slim, but once it got started, people kept pouring in. I feel like it was a good turnout for such short notice. I definetly wasn't going to sit on my butt at home and not help the numbers out there.

I've seen car forums plan for 6 months or more in advance to have a dragstrip rental that probably didn't tunout that many folks.

I'm not sure I could be missed if any of you seen me. I met my friend Chris and met with a FB friend Mark Ford at the top of the War Memorial steps in from of the Capitol. My wife is black and she had my sunglasses on with a khaki hat, I was wearing a bright blue MT hat (MTSU), jeans, white nikies, black leather jacket, and a Ralph Laruen light blue/white pinstripe button down shirt. My friend Chris had a white shirt, jeans and big shiny bald head. We stood in front as you can see from the picture. Edited by JohnC

I drove down from the other side of Knoxville with my wife and 14 year old son. I was very happy to have been in attendance and I feel that it went well. Moreover, I was extremely happy that my son participated and was a part of actively expressing his rights and being a part of the American governmental process. I think it was probably a better lesson in government than he will ever get in school. Kudos to the organizers and speakers! I look forward to the next event!

I just want to thank everyone who came out to the 2nd Amendment Rally this weekend. It turned out to be a great event with  around 1000 people in attendance. Love you guys here on TGO.

Thanks for coming out and sharing your story with everyone. I know it must be really difficult to do that.

I think your story and those like it definitely make the case for eliminating gun free zones.

Again, thank you! Edited by JohnC

I wanted to shake your hand real quick as I was in line to sign the petition but you and your dad were talking to someone as I shuffled by, so I didn't interrupt.

Great to see that you're a member here.  Thank you for sharing your story and thank you even more for being smart enough to recognize how wrong most of the gun control arguments are.  I'm very glad that you're on our side.

I'd like to thank you for speaking.  I can only speak for myself, but your story made a lasting impression.

Will there still be a gathering on Feb. 8 or did this one supersede it?
