7.62x39 AR or AK better ?

I am looking into getting an AR or AK in 7.62x39. I am going between the Aresenal in AK, or the Olypic Arms AR. Saiga may or may not be a choice as I have not put my hands on one yet. My question is, which is more accurate, the AR version or the AK version. I will be using it for mid-range target shooting and some hunting, with the emphasis more on target stuff. Thanks!

Go with the platform that round was designed for, the AK or an SKS. If you want more punch with an AR, go with 6.8spc or .308.

For 7.62x39, the AK is the FAR better platform.

thanks...that was the info I was looking for. It will probably come down to the aresenal or saiga for me then. I've had my hands on the arsenal and I like it...haven't touched a saiga yet. We'll see...options for customization on both...so little time. If I like the saiga....then that is where the price comes into play, and that is most likely what I will go with at that point.

The problem with a x39 AR is the gas system. Most of the ammo you are going to find is going to be dirtier than the commercial .223, unless you got lots of cash! That is one of the major drawbacks to the AR platform. I would stick with the AK. The "loss" in accuracy of the x39 has more to do with the ammo than anything else. There is very little x39 ammo designed for match type use, unlike the .223.
