Chicago Screws?

Recommended Posts

No not the politicians, the actual screws used in leatherwork. One backed out of my beltman belt and I need a replacement. Anyone know where I can pick up one? I of course can buy them online but I like a brick and mortar. I live in Knoxville/Johnson City, but travel to Paducah twice a month through Nashville/Clarksville.

Most hardware stores carry them. Ace and Lowes around here have them in stock. I expect Home Depot does as well, but can't say with certainty.

The ones I have seen at hardware stores tend to be aluminum.  The ones you can pick up at Tandy Leather are blackened steel or brass.  I use them for my holster making and seem to hold up well.  If memory serves me correctly, they are #8-32 screws and they sell those at places like Lowes or Ace Hardware. I use those when the screw end isn't quite long enough for my needs, or along with a corresponding T nut.
