I feel sorry for all the people who ran out and paid twice or three times the retail price for an AR15 or 30 round mags.  As an example, a gun that did not sell or GunBrokers.com for $1019 sold for $1875 yesterday.

Never count your chickens before they hatch . But  every new gun sale , every new NRA member every email ,letter or call to your elected leaders send the message that we are informed and ready to dispute the false facts and stand up for our rights . Anyone with the hopes of re election knows it would be political suicide . Everyday that passes will make it that much harder for them to get it passed . Don't give an inch , make the calls and send the emails .

True or not, I don't give a flying you-know-what. Our right is recognized by the constitution, and executive orders aren't a trump card. Yep, a lot of people have paid more than they might have otherwise - hey, elections have consequences. Way I see it, though, there are hundreds of thousands of new owners with skin in the game. The scalpers that bought for resale can take it in the wallet, for all I care, but the newbies now have a vested interest in safeguarding our rights.

Paragraph at the end of the article reflects a commonly held leftie belief--

Many political observers find themselves disappointed that the ban would not pass through Congress, and see this as evidence of serious corruption. Dr. Boyce Watkins, a professor at Syracuse University and advocate against gun violence asks,”What in the world does anyone need an assault weapon for anyway?  The fact that Congress may buckle on this issue shows that making a profit is clearly more important than protecting children.  It also says that many of our political leaders have become corrupted beyond repair.”

Maybe the fella is seeing some other kind of corruption, but there is either a real belief among anti-gunners, or at least consistent propaganda, that NRA is financed and run for the benefit of gun manufacturers rather than gun owners.

Now I've never audited the NRA and maybe it is true, but if NRA gets more money from manufacturers than gun owners, then they sure are collecting a crap-load of money from gun manufacturers? Doesn't seem likely.

That last paragraph is just exactly what I was talking about in my topic "The Need"

I read this in a number of different places online today. I think Obama knows that he can only get one or two big things through Congress before he is a lame duck. He has at most 18 months or so. Immigration reform would be more of a major benefit to his party than an AWB.

I could be wrong. History does show that the 2nd term of a President is basically over after the mid term elections.

Now with my tinfoil hat on this is all part of the MSM to make us relax our guard.

Even if he becomes a lame duck, or rather a lone communist, he can still wreak havoc without having signed one piece of

legislation. He doesn't even care. All he has to do is sit back, go play golf, go on an extended vacation and watch the country

fall to pieces. That's all he really wants. He has a better than 50% chance of succeeding, too.

He wants guns gone to accomplish the next task if it happens during his watch: to rebuild his dystopian state.

I like what I read, however I agree with AR.

Just more media speculation.

What source do they have?  I am not believing it yet.

I want to believe but I must have an eye problem as I ain't seeing it.

We should not let up!  Keep writing, calling and voting!  Just because it appears the danger may be past, doesn't mean it can't come up again.  No matter how innocent the other side makes it look, always suspect every one of their ideas, because they are not going to be good for us. If they can't get us with one big bill, then they will come at us with a lot of small bills and try and get the get the same affect, if they can.  We must continue to keep the pressure on our Representatives in Washington and in our State Capitals.  Every time we lose a fight and some seemingly small change happens, that erodes the 2A; we need to make sure that the politicians that were responsible for that law passing, get sent home and some one that is 2A friendly, replaces them.  Keep your on on the target, boys and girls!  This is far from over!!!

I really believe the Obamatrons got a wake up call when they started talks of bans and registrations etc., then witnessing all the "newbies" and oldies completly drain most the products of an entire industry in just a month, and I bet alot more pro-freedom minded people like us are making a big serious stance of resistance in telling their Reps what they think, more then we realize. I think "they" are realizing that the gun-control they wish for is going to cost them a crap load of problems they don't want.

That and James Yeager scared the hell out of them.  :)

There are a llot of pro-2A folks out there that voted for hussein with the belief that he would not go after guns. Now that speculation is gone as he has revealed his hand, and hopefully those people have realized the consequence of the last election. With any luck, these sheep have had their eyes opened. Also, if as many people that are buying guns/ammo will contact their reps, that has to send a strong message. I agree that Hussein does not care about that message but those up for re-election in 2014 might. Edited by Batman

If the God-Emperor Barack Hussein Obama had tried this stunt before the election, he would not have been re-elected, and he knows it. The demoncrats up for re-election in 2014 can't believe he'd be this stupid and are quaking in their boots.

Maybe the God-Emperor Barack Hussein Obama will just beat Jester Biden with a stick and call it done.

They just have to remember what happened back in 94 when we "cleaned house", I bet Obama is getting pressure to back off from some Dem Reps, especially from some of the more gun-friendly states.

That's really why I said speculation. Reporters get bones thrown at them, listen to interviews, choose to grab something out

of thin air. They look at our forums, also. Don 't kid yourself. They look at whatever they can and still don't have a clue at the

end of the day, just like us. I'd say those nuts speculate on how many times a day Obama takes a dump. :D
