from the article

  • The construction of the Death Star has been estimated to cost more than $850,000,000,000,000,000. We're working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it.
  • The Administration does not support blowing up planets.
  • Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship?

$850 quadrillion (in case you were wondering what the above number was)

My wife pointed out that it should cost republic credits not US Dollars.

Don't point that mistake out to Washington as they will see it as another way to go further into debt.

I agree it is a genuinely funny response. Better sense of humor than I'd have expected.
