A VERY Interesting video on AMMO in Fires and Explosions

Over the past 25+ years, I've been in several structure fires where ammo was exploding.  We were never too awfully concerned about it, we just wanted to know where it was located and tried to face the other way.  At one house fire, we did have a firefighter who had a .22 LR bullet tear through the outer layer of his bunker pants, and get lodged in the lining.  The popping is quite nerve-wracking, but once the guys understood they were in no real danger, it's really no worse than fireworks.

While a firefighter I responded to a shed on fire... seems heat lamps were in use, according to the owner (although most people would call them grow lamps). Anyway there was quite a bit of handgun and riffle ammo involved. The biggest problem we had were the casings which came flying off at a pretty good speed once the powder cooked off. They didn't seem to have any real power but as Farmun said it was quite nerve-wracking!

A buddy who is a fireman always says  "Ammo in the fire doesn't bother me but cans of Baked Beans do."
