David Gregory Skates on Gun 'Clip' Charges

Recommended Posts

So apparently if you have "no criminal record", like ALL CCW permit carriers, D.C. will choose not to prosecute you.  Yeah, good luck with that one.

Somewhat sets a precedent though for anyone who may get stuck on a canceled flight and be stuck in D.C. with their declared and cased firearm as long as they "have no criminal record".

Yeah.  Right.

This is simply B.S.

'The office made its decision “despite the clarity of the violation of this important law, because under all of the circumstances here a prosecution would not promote public safety in the District of Columbia nor serve the best interests of the people of the District to whom this office owes its trust.”

Nathan noted that his office’s decision in this case was also influenced by “our recognition that the intent of the temporary possession and short display of the magazine was to promote the First Amendment purpose of informing an ongoing public debate about firearms policy in the United States.”

Still, Nathan said other, legal means should have been used to demonstrate Gregory’s point.'

BUT...they're not too damned worried about OUR Second Amendment.  So little so that D.C. violates the hell out of it EVERY FRICKIN' DAY!

But but,  the AG was very stern, saying:

"Repetition by NBC or any employee of any similar or other firearms violation will be prosecuted to the full extent supported by the facts and the law,."

Shiver.

Basically "We will let this slide because of who you are, but we cannot let others use this as an example to do the same,".

So you can possess an illegal item if you're supporting the 1A, but you can't possess the same item if you're supporting the 2A? Sounds about right.

I may be alone on this but I am very glad he was not prosecuted.

A ridiculous law is still ridiculous no matter who broke it.  He did not deserve to be charged.

And whether or not anyone else would have been charged in an instance like this is pure speculation.

I think it just goes to show that, according to the AG, high cap mags really aren't that bad, and as long as you have no criminal record and are not using the mag to the detriment of public safety, you should be allowed to have them regardless of the law.

I am rather certain this would not extend to the benefit of a layman...

Smelled that coming.  Liberal hypocrisy.  Do as I say, not as I do.  I'm better than you.  I'm special.  I am elite.  You are scum.

Well when you are a flaming liberal, or politically connected, the law doesn't apply.

Go ahead, you try to get away with the same thing.

Equal treatment under the law?................NOT
