NY Times: "Obama Sees Tough Path on a New Assault Weapons Ban"

Came across this a few minutes ago. Interesting. Seems that Obama is acknowledging that getting an assault weapons ban through Congress isn't going to happen. They note that Obama will likely focus on "other measures".

I haven't seen any Republicans coming off their position (except for the ones that already hate guns). Mitch McConnel said it won't make it to the floor of the senate for months, and that's Obama's friendly turf.

 

The tone of that article... tighten up the laws we already have and ENFORCE them. In other words, what the NRA has been saying for years.

 

BTW... the NRA is fixing to hit with a bunch of TV and print ads

That is why I think people are concered about the executive order .

 

All the new gun purchases as well as new NRA memberships have to send a message to those in congress that want to be re elected  . Doesn't matter much for king Hussein who can't run again unless he gets the 22nd amendment changed as well . And that has been brought up .

Get the repeal of the 22nd on the mid term ballot and push it as 8 years ain't enough time for any administration to implement all their "change" and that they've still got work to do. Hey I'd bet the repeal would already have the support of 95% of the minority vote. I would expect it to pass by the same margin "he" got reelected by. Of course I do not know if this can be legally done but wth it's my contribution to tinfoil hattery

The prices will even out in weeks, but it will be months before anything will be available. Last I heard somewhere around 1 million Magpul Pmags were on backorder.

Agreed.  I am very skeptical of what the Liberals say about anything.  They may just be trying to get us to let our guard down and then bitch slap us with a ban when we're not looking.
